Nature Conservation Minister attacks garden centres

Ben Bradshaw, the minister for nature conservation, has blasted garden centres for not being environmentally responsible.

The minister attacked retailers who sell plants that are known to be invasive and a threat to our natural habitats when they find their way into the wider environment. Retailers were also admonished for not offering enough peat alternative products and for selling other environmentally dubious equipment like patio heaters.
